Italy and Georgia negotiate trade cooperation and more

President of Italy Sergio Mattarella and Minister of Economic Development Michele Geraci have visited Georgia this week and met with Ministers of economics and sustainable development Giorgi Arveladze and Genadi Chikovani to discuss trade and economic relations between Georgia and Italy and opportunities for increased cooperation

The meeting also included discussion of cooperation in energy sector such as hydropower and renewable energy sources.

Part of the Italian delegation’s visit was to attend the Georgian-Italian Business Forum in Tbilisi. Another Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Giorgi Cherkezishvili, participated in thx`e forum

Cherkezishvili’s presentation included detailed information about state programs for business stimulation and focused on Georgia’s strategic geographical location for transportation and logistics.
