On July 11th National Bank of Georgia had bought 10 million USD in order to strengthen the national currency. Georgia has faced drastic fall in value of national currency in 2016 and it has been fluctuating since then. The value of Georgian Lari today is 2.4401$.
Change in currency is of seasonal nature, during spring and summer period the currency tends to strengthen, so Georgia is taking measures to assist the matter in more favourable periods of time
As of today National bank of Georgia has in total purchased 60 million USD in 2018.
